I'd like to have 250-300 rwhp and 200-250 ftlbs of torque. Something that will get me deep in the 5 second range for 0-60 times but don't have to worry about anything breaking or having to futz with it.

About 325 wheel horsepower would make me happy all day.

300-350whp would be ideal.

I don't care how Mazda do it by either losing weight or up power, I want it to accelerate at least level with STI or EVO

All we have to do is be patient. Just think of all of the new turbos/superchargers in production right now. With a good overall setup and well tuned machine, an rx8 should be able to take an evo/sti in a drag/track/street setup.

Don't Give up up on the renesis, 400hp is just a matter of time.

I really think taking one of those cars in the 1/4 is going to be very tough. You should thrash it on a road course at or below those power numbers though.

you dont need but 300whp against a stock evo or sti and you have go that down. I believe it was either maddog or mazdamaniac that said that they do it all the time with a greddy kit and an int-x. There are more powerful kits coming too. So no worries.

I'm sure it would come out sooner or later but installing and tuning one at the same level as in the US or OZ isn't gonna happen to mine since there's no competent tuner in my country. A group tuning needs to be negotiated but right now there's only less than 30 8 in the whole country and only minority is up for power upgrades. I seriously envy you guys over there.

I don't think the car would be driveable with 400 whp without MAJOR suspension mods.

I know I'm gonna get my butt chewed for this but I'm gonna be greedy and say 500rwhp and screw reliability. I want a flame belching monster. If it's not an every day driver I'll buy another car...a little crx or something..and if someone says something I'll drive home and get the 8 and watch their faces when...my engine detonates...oh well

How many sti and evo owners do you think keep their cars stock?

Give me 90 more horses for 5,000 (Supercharger + kit) with minimum mods and I will be happy.

I think 250rwhp woudl produse a very well balanced car for Track and AutoX. If I were more track oriented then about 300rwhp.
