wouldnt that be pretty much the same thing as the interx though? being able to tune your own A/f Ratios and what not?
also, wouldnt the power be about the same as racing beat has gotten from tuning/cracking the ecu?

Imagine the benefits of a standalone ecu by instead of a new ecu, you just plug into your OBDII port and retune the stock ecu any way you want it.

so its pretty much like the interx, excpet with no installation required, just plug and play..in that case then, if you by Scotts turbo kit, it comes with the interx, would it be better to sell the interx or ask for it not to be included since you tune your own Ecu, or would it still be wise to use the interx becuase it would allow easier controll on the turbo?

Potentially. I do support Scott and his product though and you definitely won't find support better than his anywhere. It won't be easy to retune the factory ecu as the maps look very different from conventional aftermarket ecu's. It's an entirely new learning curve with them and there is far more to it. It won't be as easy as many people think it will be but it will be possible. I still don't know how they will make the factory ecu compensate for boost pressure but we'll see.

A reflash would be programmed to your exact parameters. No CELs. All functions like cruise control still operational, and the car would function like it came stock. It's the way to go, imo.

That's all fine and dandy until Mazda reflashes it. If you let them of course.

I realize everything works on the Interceptor. That wasn't my point. With a reflash, you shouldn't get the CELs and error codes when diagnostics are hooked-up to it.

Personally, if I had a programmed reflash I wouldn't let Mazda touch the car unless it was absolutely imperative.

No need for sarcasm, Dave. I'm just saying it'd be real nice to see this sort of stuff instead of just talk and claims that slowly walk towards ridiculous (making 400rwhp on 87octane and alcohol).

there's nothing ridiculous about that goal. i haven't done it yet, but i haven't been driving the fd since it got run over. and i post up dyno sheets all the time. just because you don't look at them doesn't mean they're not there.

I know both of these guys so I'm not bad mouthing either of them but Brian is by far the most open person about what he does and how he does it. The rotary community needs more people like this. He is probably one of the world's smartest independent rotary people who isn't affiliated with Mazda, a race team, or a shop.

Ah, I don't know about that all. I don't like to think of myself like that. I'm just an overgrown enthusiast like everyone else here who enjoys this stuff.

You need some longer videos. Right when it's about to get good, they end.

I dont have proof other then the time slips on the RX-7 Richy Rasodo built but he was getting over 700 HP on methonal on our dyno. He runs over 30 psi non intercooled. Methanol cools very well. Its a thought but an I/C may be a thing of the past when when running E85.

Ethanol is corn alcohol. Actually it's made from many things. Methanol is wood alcohol. It's very different. Brian is using Methanol.

Try reloadin' em. They should be workin', although they flip out on my end from time to time. They're converted from AVI to MPG so they'd play on the website. I have the original AVI's, which sound better and are brighter, if you want to see 'em.

Methanol will give you cancer while Ethanol will give you a hangover.

It would be merciful if cancer was all that methanol would give you. Drinking even as little as 4oz can be fatal.
