I saw that two--it had a signature HKS air intake, but it was the smallest blurb ever.

I seriously doubt it's carb approved. That approval process costs alot of money. It wouldn't be worth it. The best way to avoid it is to not live in California.

They don't have to do anything. They can just sell it as an "off road use only" product. The buyers uses it at their own risk.

It won't pass a visual test in California. Here in Texas (a part of that state that does test), they just plug into the OBDII port under the dash. If they see no codes, you pass. Simple enough. No visual inspection or anything.

If you are in a county that doesn't have emissions then definitely. If you are in one that does, as long as you don't throw an CEL's, you're good to go.

SCC states it as a turbo--I need to get out a magnifying glass to see if I can see the engine internals.

I'm with Takahashi on this one. I think SCC got it WRONG. I also read in Option magazine, a jdm tuner mag, that the blue car shown from the Tokyo Auto Salon (same car shown in SCC mag) had the new HKS Supercharger.

Well thanks Hachi.

The HKS is advertising their new supercharger (centrifuge type or something?! ). There are many models of car had one put on. The 3 series BMW won a prize too!

No data on the Supercharger on the RX-8 yet. I have not even seen the data on the Z yet?!
