HKS Rotrex Supercharger for RX-8!
Hey guys, I saw a rotrex SC for RX-8 on my RX-7 Magazine (JP ver.). I thought it was for Z33, but after I read it thoroughly, I realised that the SC kit is for RX-8!!! I've been looking all over the internet but I didnt find it... So, if you have any information about this rotrex supercharger kit, please let me know.... thx!

I called HKS last week about a FI system I saw on the internet. They are just starting with the planning stages. They have not even decided yet if they are going turbo or super. They estimate a year until it is ready.

HKS turbo kit
I don't know if this is old news or what, but in the May edition of Sports Compact, they have small pic of an RX-8 turbo. The Caption for the pic reads something like HKS joins Greddy in turbo charging 8s.
Does anyone have any info on this kit? HKS is a pretty good company and I would be intereted in what they have come with for the 8 besides intakes and coilovers.
Also RE Amemiya was working on a turbo kit. What happened to it?
I think I may want a turbo kit, but worried about engine endurance. I know FI kills your engine but in terms of getting it to last long is my concern. I saw an article about cryogenically freezing engine parts to make them stronger. Does that even worK? If it does, its it even worth it?

In Super Street they said turbocharger for HKS--however, it could have been an error. RE Amemiya has developed their turbo kit for JDM application as well as the 4-port motor. Not sure on its availability in the states though. FI does not 'kill' your engine either, for example the Greddy kit is running modest boost levels--the engine block so far has shown to handle the stress. If anything your catalytic converter life may be shortened. When guys start turning up the boost we may see more failures.

I want to know who will be the first to have a twin turbo, and if the Renesis can handle it. I don't know about HKS, but the GReddy turbo is smaller, for lower end performance and less lag, which is what most of us would want, but I can see where a bigger turbo would be desireable as well. Either way, I'm too poor to have anything.
If anyone were to get an HKS anything, I'm sure it'd be you XDEEDUBBX.

Any motor can handle twin turbo systems. Twin turbo systems don't make any more boost than single turbo systems, neccessarily. Frankly, it'd be a waste, imo...Ask the RX7 or Supra guys - if you want power, you go to a single-turbo.

I called them awhile ago, they are still in very early planning and have not decided yet whether they will go turbo or super. It will be about a year before they have anything close to being ready for market.

yeah as dmp said "Any motor can handle twin turbo systems. Twin turbo systems don't make any more boost than single turbo systems, neccessarily. " Twin are only good when you run them sequatially to eliminate turbo lag...however that is VERY VERY HARD and dangerous and with 2step rpm limiters and nitrous, having a large single turbo is the easy and better way to go.
