oil change light?

I mean seriously, u dont even know **** about your own car. and you just snap more stuff to it, and its something that you know absolutely NOTHING about.

um.. I believe that the light means that the oil pressure is either too high, or too low. I doubt our 8's can inspect the quality of the oil in our cars. You should find a local shop to help you out, or a buddy. I hope you are driving the car conservatively because it is not safe to gun at its current state, I would even be cautious of driving it.

 

I was just kiddin about the changing the oil...gee. i just didnt know why i came on. I've only driven it 3 times and i've havent reved passed 4000 rpms

Your oil feed line (or drain) is leaking.

 

yea well i knew that. i just havent tightend it yet cuz i dont have the tool to

i knew it was leaking but i wasnt sure if it was causing that problem.sry, i seem to always ask things i already know but sometime i just wanna double check with people that would know more about it. and i am being careful! i dont plan on driving it until i have everything finished and running propertly

 

so i want to clearify something here.... you have not tightened down the line that carries oil to the turbo (oil feed line), and i am guessing you didnt tighten down the line that runs from the turbo to the oil pan (oil return line)... so your car is leaking like crazy right now and you are wondering why you are smoking and seeing the check oil light??


dude you have to be more carefull of what you post on here... you never post that stuff on here if you ever want to come back and say something that will be respected.... have you checked your oil level? do you have the tray that goes under the car on?


well i have good news and bad news... the good news... you are not really pushing oil through the turbo seals....

the bad news.... you are really close to ruining your motor... the smoke is coming from the oil leaking (spraying) on the motor, exhuast mani, down pipe and the exhuast housing of the turbo... the line that you added is a high pressure line that allows a lot of oil to flow to the turbo.... the light is turning on because you are low on oil and have terrible oil pressure... the light is known as a dummy light (i will let you ponder that)... may i ask you how far have you driven it? how long was the light on for?

you have a major issue here... and it has nothing to do with coolant unless you never put any back in the car during the install.... i would do a few things if i was you.... 1. DO NOT TOUCH THE CAR ANYMORE... 2. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE... 3. TOW THE CAR TO A SHOP AND HAVE THEM REPAIR THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE.... 4. SELL YOUR TOOLS (just kiddin).... 5. Learn about somethign before you install it.... the list goes on and on here...


you have a serious problem here that needs to be addressed ASAP... you can not keep doing this with out spend 4-7 thousand dollars on a new motor.... which i hope you dont build...... i have a lot more to say some of it not so nice but i am going to keep it to myself and say good luck man

 

Wow, this is not so good. I can appreciate bouncing ideas of of other more knowledgable people; I have been doing that ever since I bought my car as I am not an expert on anything. Having said that, you need to at least fully research the problem (and read directions that comes with the kit), it sounds like your doing this on a budget which is going to end up costing you a lot more in the long run. Please be careful.

If the car is vibrating perhaps the engine mount wasn't secured properly when reinstalled. The smoke could be due to spilled oil that wasn't cleaned up when installed. I think mine did that for a day or two when first installed.

 

Yes i would agree with you but he did not tighten the oil feed line... so i doubt it is the same thing...


trust me i am normally positive and helpful.... but i am amazed at this situation

I tightend the oil line and smoke didnt go away. but it did stop leaking oil.

 

I'm afraid that any hope of our help evaporated along with the last of your oil burning off from the leak......take it to a good shop and get some help

 

means you have a bad turbo.
