Greddy Turbo kit for Challenge RX8???

Hey guys,

i was just wondering if the bolt on kit from greddy is applicable to the smaller hp edition of the rx8.

in greece we get a 5gear MT, with 193 hp... and was wondering if the kit fits on my engine! ive tried to contact greddy's authorized dealer, and i got nothing...

anyone out there know what the deal is on these bolt ons and if they are applicable?

thanks!

I think it will work. Somebody has it hooked up to the AT model over here (same engine). If it works on that one I think it should work on yours too. You'll just need to get it custom tuned, the map is expecting the higher power engine.

Here is the thread that is discussing it: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-specific-performance-mods-97/greddy-turbo-working-auto-rx8-52403/

it will work, your engine just isn't designed for power though.

I guess your trying to say that the interior components are less durable and cant handle the higher strain levels of a forced induction?

I thought the interior components were identical except for the extra fuel prot and some other small diferences...

Its not only that, but im not sure if your tranny or clutch would be able to take all the extra power all that well.

Is like trying to sprint through a field of glue vs. pavement

But if its worked for other members, I say do it!

If you use the kit for the 6-port, you'll need bigger secondary injectors at a minimum. The member in the link above lost 2 seconds 0-60mph on a minimal tune, running stock injectors that were nearly maxed out on duty cycle. You should be able to pick up 50+ horsepower easily with proper injectors and tuning. The Re-amemiya turbo kit, which is a greddy/trust kit for the 4-port motor, comes with bigger secondaries and a map already tuned for the engine, however it's a bit more expensive. They claimed 70 horsepower over stock.
