Greddy Turbo Hose Routing

I just want to get some input on the 3 hoses that was supposed to be connected to the intake. The way greddy meant it was:

Airinx filter ===> Jet Air Fuel Mixing Hose
air intake pipe (nipple 1) ===> Oil Fill
air intake pipe (nipple 2) ===> Metering Oil Pump Hose

There is a complication in which the fitting that was supposed to connect to the Jet Air Fuel mixing hose to my airinx was lost....

---------------------------

This is how my hose setup is when it came from the installer:

air intake pipe (nipple 1) ===> catch can
catch can ==> tee
tee => oil fill
tee => another tee
2nd tee ==> Jet Air Fuel Mixing Hose, Metering Oil Pump Hose
air intake pipe (nipple 2) ===> Sealed off

Just want to know whether there is any negative effects by running this...

----------------------------

Coincidentally i tried rerouting the hoses a different way

air intake pipe (nipple 1) ===> catch can
catch can ==> oil fill
air intake pipe (nipple 2) ===> tee
tee => Metering Oil Pump Hose
tee => Jet Air Fuel Mixing Hose

This routing method produced a better response, but it blasted white smoke through the exhaust whenever the car idled for more than about 10 seconds..... So i put it back to what the installer put it at....

------------------------------------------

It is my intention to put it back to the way greddy meant it, just wanna get your opinions whether this is correct:

air intake pipe (nipple 1) ===> catch can
Catch can ==>oil fill
air intake pipe (nipple 2) ===> Metering Oil Pump Hose
Jet Air Fuel Mixing Hose ===> a breather

You think i will still get white smoke if i swap it to this route? Just want to get some input for fear of damaging my turbo...

This should work fine. I don't know how many miles are on your turbo, but if it still smokes in this configuration, it is possible you have a blown oil seal.

Don't forget the check valve on the jet air fuel line.

Check Valve? I dont think there was a check valve... The hose is 9mm, i dont think i've seen a check valve that size...

Without it you will have a small boost leak though.

So now i get a 10 nipple... and fit it in there?
Or do i stick with the breather...?
has anyone done this rerouting of the hose?

What about the intake manifold plate... has anyone done it?

I moved the jet air line to a breather... and out came the white smoke...

I am almost positive i took the right hose, what happens if it's the othery way round?

Should i just put it back to the way it was?

it would be nice if someone could provide a nice illustration of a hose routing diagram for turbocharging the 8. that would solve a lot of these "how and where to route hoses" questions

just my 2cents. im also having hose routing issues with my turbo setup.

thanks,
chris

Jet air fuel hose

With the breather = white smoke...
With the hose connected to an inlet in the pipe... = white smoke...

Attached is a picture of the setup i tred... I already put it back to what it was before, coz i need to drive the car....

Any idea what could be the cause?

Consider the functions of the pipes:
-the engine breather hose is taking any vapours out of the motor when they are above atmospheric pressure and so preventing pressure build up,
-the jet air pipe provides air at about atmospheric pressure to nozzles in the inlet port the purpose of which is to improve fuel atomisation at low engine speeds,
-the oil injection air provides air at atmospheric pressure to the inlet of the oil injector nozzles--the purpose being to prevent a vacuum getting to the oil supply.The reason being that if you do not break that vacuum you will suck oil into the combustion chambers.

My guess would be that you are not getting air to your oil injectors and so sucking oil into the combustion chambers.

Thanks for the links....

But unfortunately, it's hard for me to procure little items like this... I live in a tiny obscure country... Trying Mazsport now as he will be sending me an interceptor in a bit, so hopefully he can procure one for me....
