Great information on the Rotary heat issues and how it was resolved...

Probably the worst thread title ever, but I really couldn't think of anything while I'm sitting here at work.

This was a good read...

I just finish Coleman tread and it was interesting. If/When I go FI, I will be using AI.
I knew about Howard when he was racing (we raced in different classes) and finally got to meet him 3 yrs ago. He was talking about getting 500 rwhp, but didn't mention the AI. I hope I get a chance to see his car this summer.

Thanks CyberPitz for finding this. I don't go over to 7Club too often (especially the FD forums) and would have missed this.

Yeah, I read that thread a couple of weeks ago, great read! My initial FI application won't be with meth injection, I'm going to get it up and running first and then find a meth kit I like.

The assertions about alcohol are absolutely true being a guy who's contributed to some of that thread and having messed with it for the past couple years.

Be careful with it Steven and tend towards being distrustful of the stuff you're reading about it on the Internet. AI (aux injection) when it comes to our overall rotary enthusiast community is a thing in its infancy to a great degree. There's very real little practical data on it. I am certainly a fan, as you may've read on my thread on rx7club, but I think I'm still scratching the surface of it all. Alot of folks on these forums will give you advice about it but very few of them have ever managed to get an AI system setup let alone put any real time into testing. So, take what you read with a grain of salt (isn't that the truth with alot of stuff on the Internet anyways?)

I have a meth kit I still haven't installed. When it comes to tuning, do you still tune checking the AFR's the same way? (Trying to keep it no more than 11.4) or are you allowed to go higher when you are using meth? Will injecting meth change my AFR (lower it?)

i don't think you should tune it, but it's all up to you, and according to OD, it will enrich your system by .2---in that area,,,,,but i don't know if i was wrong.
i will not know until i install it in my car because you will find out deeper about things until you do experience it your self carefully as BDC advice me....

How rich your AFRs get depends on nozzle size, water/meth & air ratio.

exactly---if you have it set for insurance purposes only and dont want to lose power it will enriched approx 0.2. you can set it to give you anything you want---but i would NOT tune releying on a w/m system---unless you have a spare engine lying around.

The "0.2" enrichment is not a static figure by any means. You can't count on 0.2:1 increase in air/fuel ratios as it's a highly variable thing depending upon output volume on the injection system, manifold pressure, and engine RPM. For instance, on my car, I'm replacing 30% of the gasoline fuel with alcohol. For example, how many points difference do you think mine is at 1.6 bar of boost from 4500 to 7500rpm? :eyecrazy:
