Fit the series 2 pump. This is the well know solution to your problem. See link : https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-...ries-i-230326/

I was driving coming up to the stop sign suddenly it cut off started it up again costed it in to a gas station and realized it quit delivering fuel to the . All fuses relays seem to be fine. There’s just no power to the pump when I do jump power to it. It puts the car in limp mode. Open any suggestions?

Well took me a long time to read this. I run into fuel cut off issues at Phillip Island Australia as there is a series of LH corners for a bit over 20s flat throttle pretty much at limit of tyre grip. Would do it about 15l from full. Installed new S1 pump assembly and was good to 40l from full and then it came back. Installed a 2nd hand S2 pump assembly and now can run to about 25l from full. My theory was that there was an issue when at max fuel consumption rate there was not enough flow from return to draw enough fuel via venturi and S2 pump made slight improvements due to design. Talked to RX8 racers down here and their main solution is to run pumps in both saddles as due to regs they can't run different tanks or surge tanks. Not keen going down that route as it is a daily as well as track car. Latest opinion or solutions. And yes it is just a pretty standard NA engine.

I don't know of any solution, other than what you have already listed. I would install the second pump in the saddle or the surge tank. You can get in tank surge tanks now that install very neatly. I'm running one from JDL manufacturing. I had Deatschwerks test the setup and it performs very well. The pump should never run out of fuel due to lateral g forces.

Fixed this issue in my 2008 40th Anniversary Edition RX8, by installing a Series Two fuel pump, doing the slight mods spelled out in DIY in this thread. Worked like a charm and has been working great for years now. Cheers
