You will need fuel upgrades to hit 300whp...AND ignition timing. The current Greddy setup does not have ignition setup. If you choose to try to hook up ignition with the Emanage Blue, you will have to create a custom dongle that will modify the signal from the Emanage Blue to the coil packs so you don't burn them out as well. If you upgrade to the Emanage Ultimate you will not require this dongle. I hit 267 whp... tuned with no ignition timing and no fuel upgrades boost at 7.8 lbs of boost with a low 11's AFR..

Do you plan on keeping the composite upper intake manifold? I can't imagine it taking much more without exploding. I recall hearing stories of it flexing under pressure at much lower power levels.

Good job so far! Can't wait until you crank it up to 14.

I can shange it on the future.
But rigth now if I whant to vhange it I would need to make a custom one.............

We beleive that the plastic one can handle 14 psi...............

I runed 3-4 months with the greddy kit at 14 psi already.......
Of course this is a different turbine!

I've heard of the Mazda3's plastic intake manifold holding up to 20 psi... I guess the only way to know is to crank it up until it cracks and starts leaking

Yep,

I'm goin to see if there is no problem with the plastic intake......
I believe that is goin to handle the 14 psi, if it cracks I would make a custom one
on aluminum.

I'm "brake in" this new turbo before put on the dyno, we set the ECU very rich to prevent run lean during the "brake in" but yesterday I pushed a little more than 10 psi of boost
and the car feels a lot more fast now, is really smoth...................

Manuel, if you need any help in Venezuela, let me know. Give me a call for the round of golf, the golf course in Punta Borinquen is well kept and is not crowded. Still in the break-in with the turbo?

I visit today the west side of the island...........

I was a week and a half out of the island and just arive last tuesday to Puerto Rico.
That afternoon my grandfather die and I was in his funeral today.

When I came back to the north shore it was raining a lot in the Punta Borinquen area.
So probably the golf course would be better on the next days...........
I also checked the waves in the Rincon area but it was so windy.................

Talking about the car before my business trip to Venezuela and Colombia we put it on the dyno and keep it on the 325-330HP at the wheel with 14 psi of boost............it feels great, but we would work on our tune because I believe that we can make 20 HP more to achieve the 350 HP............
Now I'm goin to work on a few "cosmetic" thinks on the engine bay and enjoy the car for a few months before moving forward................

A possible next step is the famous "pineo" for safe and probably porting.

Make 400 HP on this engine without internal modifications looks difficult,
Let's see what is avaible in the market on the next months for the RX8's.

I'm goin to push it until I sale the car.......................
usually I change my car every 3 or 4 years.

"pineo" is dowel pinning, adding extra dowels to reinforce the block and prevent it from twisting itself open

GTAW,

with the "pineo" basically what you do is reinforce the block and prevent it from moving.
If the car "rotorea" (the rotor moves) probably the only bad that can happen is to brake a compresion "aro" but probably you don't brake the engine.

neit jnt,
please explain this better for GTAW in english....................

In other words, you can still break a seal if not properly tuned but prevent the block from breaking with the extra pinning.

The higher the boost/power levels the higher the stress. The rotor housings want to follow the rotor's movement, twisting relative to the irons and possibly twisting the water seals open and/or cracking at the stock dowels.

It depends on the builder wether they want to further "pin" the engine or not as it's a safety measure. A lot of people run crazy boost without pinning, others prefer to be safer.
