Boostin'
Mid 12s is where would would expect to be with one of our top mounts @ 10psi.
Driver skill and Tire compound are the most critical parts.
Several years back I went to the track with two Rx-7s I completely built.
The FD on stock engine/twins @ 10psi ran a 12.1( way below average), and the other one with a single turbo/ported engine @ 21 psi ran a 13.2...

1/4 racing is cheap fun for me.
Here it's $15 to run from 6-10:30 pm, usually get 8-10 runs down the track.....And the look on unsuspecting V8 owners is priceless when I beat them down the track
Where else can you go and spend that little and have some fun with your car.
I have autoX also and enjoy the **** out of it too.
It your car enjoy it how you want.

dude 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times are not a good indicator of engine power. Its all about the launch. For example look at the Audi TT (Europe version) with the pdk etc and I think around 300 hp--)-60 in under 4 secs. The reason---4 wheel drive and a bunch of electronics. Hell of a launch. This car cant launch without a few modifications.
A well set up FI package on this engine and under 9 lbs of boost will gain --roughly speaking 75-120 rwhp.

The rx8 was designed to be fast on a circuit but its still a sports car... most sports car owners care at least a little about how fast they go in a straight line. But keep lying to yourselfs.
In any case a 11-12 sec 1/4 is not much to ask for from a sub 3000lbs car. Imagine track times on a circuit with the power needed to achieve those 1/4 times.

comparing a sports car to a Jeep and a truck is way more than a stretch.

yea for an rx8 the 0 to 60 is a crucial point. as every one knows this car can handle. and with the added power to the wheels the cars a champ all day long

I suspect its really hard to get a good launch unless you put slicks back there. Then if you get a "good launch" with 330+ hp, I just dont feel like that transmission will hold up. Street tires are fine but it would be hard to get a solid launch. Ive dreamed of a t56 connected to a turbo Renesis.
