did any one take out rx8 OEM ECU?

ok my car's hacked apart again due to all the leaks and crap.

since i got the car running, this time i'll be focuing on finer details like electricals and sensors.

I had a few questions...

1. does power steering assembly work without the oem ecu? i know it takes velocity information... I don't know whether it takes the velocity info from the ecu or from abs directly.

2. how do I get the oem tachometer to work without using the oem reluctor ring?

3. how do I get the oem speedometer to work with rx7 transmission?

4. is there any harm in putting in "too much" engine oil for 20b motor? my oil pan is vented directly to atm. i don't see any harm... I ask only because my dip stick can not be reached since engine is in the tranny tunnel. or is there some reliable oil level sensor i can use? my oil pressure is fine per my guage

if there's no solution to this.. i'm going microtech display and ripping out the oem cluster. errr really don't wanna do that though.

thanks!

Power steering is CAN BUS....so it uses the ECU

Need the stock trigger wheel for the Tack to get a signal

Speedo should work if the ECU is happy..it uses the wheel speed sensors for that I think

Oil level needs to be correct...you need to figure out something to get at the dipstick Too much isn't as bad as in a piston engine...but it isn't great
