Custom Turbo
Ok... so i really want to get at least 300 rwt out of the renny... I have a 04 6mt, fully loaded mius the 6cd changer. I wanna turbo so that the car i not in boost while im cruising around so i can get a little bit better mpg than a sc. (more air = more fuel) I wold like to not be in full boost until about 4k, am looking to gt 300rwt like previously stated, but do not want more than 9 psi since this is my dd. So my real question is... what turbo would be at say... 8 psi at 4-4.5k (which would be full boost). I understand it will be a larger turbo capable at pushing a lot more air which makes sence that is will be less hard on the engine and turbo if t was a smaller tubo that maxes out at 9 psi. So the question is... what turbo( brand/size) would work for this wanted set-up? Any personal experince/comments with this would be greatly appreciated. EMS will be done most likely via cobb.

Give them a call. They are Garrett dealers and will prolly have some options for you.

Do you have any idea how a supercharger works? Theyre not in boost during cruise. They are still load based, just like a turbo, only boost is more directly tied to rpm. Dont count it out based on what you said.

I'm not even sure which quote from "******" really belongs here, so I'm gonna go with:
"Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible ****... ME. "

I zoom therefore I am.
I can count on one hand the number of "i'm getting a turbo" threads that actually show the OP did any research.
To the OP, i'm sorry to be coming down on your thread but all of the questions you asked are answered in the major horsepower section. I would suggest you read everything you can about going FI before pulling that trigger.

this might be too on the nose, but i would have gone with

I did search. A spercharger is constantly comprssing air, well as long as the pully is being spun by the engine, unless you have created something that any previous engineer could laugh at due to the extremely rich afr's while the superchargr isnt "on". or are you talking about a leaf blower?... lol And i know how they work. Im not an imbisile. I am going to go turbo within the next year hopefully. I would like to get everthing planned out ahead of time. Im looking for torque because thats where the strength is. Hypethetically you could have 300whp and 100rwt and only go as quick as something with about 230 of each... Correct me if im wrong.

Ok... So anyways... Im looking for 300 rwt with the psi under 10 as its going into the motor which means the turbo will have to be pushing 11-12 psi due to the minor lack of pressure loss due to the intercooler. Does anyone know what size turbo i would need for this set-up?
