Do you have any idea how a supercharger works? Theyre not in boost during cruise. They are still load based, just like a turbo, only boost is more directly tied to rpm. Dont count it out based on what you said.

Yeah, I've stopped doing that myself.

I'm not even sure which quote from "******" really belongs here, so I'm gonna go with:

"Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible ****... ME. "

I can count on one hand the number of "i'm getting a turbo" threads that actually show the OP did any research.

To the OP, i'm sorry to be coming down on your thread but all of the questions you asked are answered in the major horsepower section. I would suggest you read everything you can about going FI before pulling that trigger.

your very wrong. torque x rpm = hp

positive displacement SC arent load based, they are purely RPM based. but yes, they do generally employ bypass stuff for cruise. never paid attention to how they are designed, but i'd be curious to see if i could cruise out of boost since i spend a lot of time cruising well into the 6-7K rpm range

Can you imagine a car with 211nm @9000rpm given that wrong math?

265 is more realistic

He does have a point, though.
A car with higher peak torque is going to be quicker than the car with higher peak horsepower.

very true. i was just trying to point out that hp and torque are connected by rpm and not just two magical floating numbers a car makes.
