Compression check before turbo

I want to make sure my motor is healthy enough for FI before installing the turbo, so I called my local stealership about a compression check. They want $170 and said that they need the car for an entire day. The reason is because they have to check the compression when the motor is hot AND when the motor is cold.
1.Is this true?
2. How long are the results of a good compression check valid?
Please use this thread to post your experience with checking compression on the Renesis, and other pre-FI health check-ups specific to the RX8.

They dont need to check it when its cold. The car does needs to be warmed up before they do the test thou.

Just take it to a dealership and complain of a lack of low end power and say you want a compression test. A good one will do it for free, bad ones will charge you an hour of labor.

How long are the results valid? Until the motor starts again. Compression can change quickly, I lost over 20 psi on all my faces in just over a week on my old motor.
