Cobb AP, Int-X, and the Esmeril Kit

I believe it i have come to a time to make a decison on what EMS i want to use with my Esmeril kit. In a seperate thread on this forum we have been trying to troubleshoot a no start issue iwth my car. I believe its the int - x that is fried which leaves me with selecting a new EMS.

I have no issues iwth the INT- X. Its what came with the kit but its starting to be difficult to find one to use. Also, I have done some tracing of wires and tracking of wires and i can not really find what was caused the Int-X to fry. I am lead to believe its something inside the Int- X itself. I am a little parinoid about buying another one, plugging it in, and having it fry again.

This is why i am now contemplating the Cobb AP. I know there has been discussion on if hte Cobb would work with the Esmeril kit and i belive that its been decided that it is possible and would work. I am asking for more advice and information on the Cobb AP and what are everyones opinions on what should be done here. Thanks for the info and time guys.

I bought Chris's personal kit which is different and might no be the same problems but I had 3 different tuners and 4 mechanics look at my car and try to fix a proble were the car wouldn't idle. So when you say the inter-x is fried how do you know it's fried? Did it not seem to work because it wouldn't idle like mine? Did you hook it up to a laptop to see if it's reading info from the car? My problem is not entirly fix but SSC came to my house and with in 2 hrs had it idling were others couldn't! I would talk to him as he is intimate with the inter-x first.

As for the COBB, I believe MM said he could tune (almost) any set up now because he figured out how. I know nothing of him tunning a Esmeril kit yet and would love to see if he could?

There is another thread were we asked if we could use the two EMS systems together in an attempt to pass the DMV inspection. Check it out, MM said he could do it but we haven't tried it yet.

The turbo kit you choose to use shouldn't affect your choice of EMS. The only reason you arn't able to use the Cobb with the Esmeril kit is because it doesn't have an intake system that will allow it. It's not very difficult to fab up an intake, the GReddy kit has been paired with a modified AEM or MS intake for quite a while now to be used with the AP. Something similar shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
