Its not the type of blow off vavle that you have which constitutes recirculation, it's the setup of your car. Read my post a few up. You don't want to starve your engine of that air.

You never have to recirculate your BOV, even if it's located after the MAF as in a draw-thru setup, all it does is create a momentary rich condition during decel which results in a small backfire (sometimes) and sometimes some flames, it doesn't hurt your motor.

From what I know, If your running a MAF based ecu then you should recirculate because the MAF already calculated the amount of air that passed by it and already calculated the amount of fuel to use with that air. When I had my emanage i had a bov and vented it to the atmosphere which did what you said and I hated it. But thats just me, some of you guys may like the gunshot backfires and the baby sparks lol.

If you use the accessport (maf system) recirculating is a good idea though it isn't required unless you run the synchronic bov (I tried it with the antistall fitting and it didnt work well)

That is as simple as I can put it.

All it does is create a momentary rich condition. The air was metered by the MAF, so the ECU figures the fuel needed for it's target Lambda. When the BOV vents, the air escapes, so not as much air is entering the motor as the MAF metered. That means the engine will run rich, just it's only for a second. Sometimes it will bog the motor slightly, but it usually just results in a backfire.

The point is you don't have to recirculate. Does it make the car run better? Sure. Do you have to do it? No.

My BOV was near silent when I recirculated it.

I don’t mind to hear a pop here and then on decel so I vent to atmosphere again.

Haven't seen too many people with mine. I'm using a Go Fast Bits (GFB) hybrid recirc / blow off. It has 11 hybrid settings.

When I first put it on at full blow off, the car would run rich momentarily after venting, then hesitate, so I put it on 50/50. Car ran fine, but was eventually re-tuned to vent to atmosphere, so I don't recirc anymore unless I want the car quiet.

A more expensive version of my valve allows you do adjust the recirc/blowoff and thus the volume from inside the car.

There are also multiple trumpets you can get for sound, all woosh, woosh after normal throttle and whistle after WOT, and all whistle.

Sound is good but not as tight as the HKS IMO.
