wow. that picture doesn't exactly inspire confidence. no belts, the hose clamps are loose, there's no ECU, I wonder if they've finished development or just rushing to market half-baked.

all for $7,900 US. That's a terrible $/HP ratio.

 

I forget, but how much power did they make with that supercharger?

 

I think it was supposed to be an additional 50whp, can't remember for sure since its been ages since the last update.

that doesn't sound like a whole lot for 8 grand (?!?!), I wonder if they're even building them anymore or have continued development.

 

This Blitz Supercharger will increase its output by approx. 50bhp. This will push the more powerful model towards 300bhp

and "towards" doesn't count....it's either there or it's not.

 

QFT, 1 HP pushes it "towards" 300 HP. -1, however pulls it away...so I guess it could be worse :p.

 

After looking at the pic I have to say the idea of simple bolt on supercharger went the way of the unicorn.

There are a lot of new parts there and the install time looks like it would be similar to the Greddy.

The only funtional SC'ed RX8's I know running around are from Pettit right now. Do know if anybody has any sound/video clips from it though.

 

oh yeah ,that's right. is that the same as Sunflower? plus there is that awesome white concept running around as well. hmm, wonder how much longer before a supercharger is a viable alternative to turbo?

 

No neither of the other SC's is similar to the Sunflower unit. The sunflower is a Centrifugal unit, the Blitz & Pettit are root/screw type. Unfortunately it seems like the Sunflower unit has went by the wayside. Haven't heard anything about it's progress in months. Unless they get more than 40-50 hp out of the units, I don't see it as a viable alternative to the turbo. Already the Greddy is giving us 60+ whp, the PTP is looking around 90 whp & the SSR unit around 100-110 whp. I hope the SC companies will be able to develop a little more hp with their tunes, like 60-70 hp, then they might be competitive.

 

From what another forum member said when he witnessed the car at the last 7stock, he said it sounded even more like a ufo...hahah

 

I guess we'll see what Richard comes out with as well, if he's still playing around with the "axialflow" or whatever, I saw the PTP car in person, very nice work, not to mention it was very quiet. total sleeper

 

I live close to Pettit. They did my flywheel.

When i was waiting to pick up my car, they were having there's detailed. They moved to front of the shop.

The sound is a high pitch whine when he was on the revs. Sounds like a jet! Maybe i can get some video next week if they let me!!

We need to get them on this post!
