Zoom Zoom and me have the same horse sound under vacuum. We found we are running the same setup. Stock midpipe, and Racing Beat exhaust. We are thinking the RB might be the problem. SOmeone else with this setup??

What I have right now. Runs fine for me. No audible difference during vacum

Well I remember at one point I was considering getting the RB exhaust, but I emailed RB because I was unsure if I decided to go FI down the road. He told me that the RB exhaust was not designed for FI applications and that I should look elsewhere for an exhaust to run with FI.

None of them are. Turbo on the RX8 is a relitively new thing. All the aftermarket exhausts were designed for the stock NA RX8. I sent an email to Greddy about their EVO line (supposed to be made for NA cars with a turbo kit), they said maybe by the end of the year.

There are some shops making 3" exhausts for turbo'd 8's. PTP is going to be making one soon, Altered Atmosphere has one now. The is another one, but I can't remember the name.

Altered Atmosphere huh ? I'll check them out. From the regular "big name" exhausts (RB, Greddy, Borla, B&B, HKS, etc.) I haven't seen anything....YET.

There is actually one big company that makes one. It was posted on here a while ago, can't remember who though.

Can't you just get custom piping done at your local muffler shop?

so do you guys think that a bigger exhaust (than racing beat) with a stock cat will cure the "horse sound" when under vacuum?
