If you want to test the manifold on an N/A car, I only live about 30 minutes away and can leave it with you for a few days.

I'd be interested if we could keep the cost around $400.

Thanks for the offer, but we already have several Rx-8s to test on.

not on my "must have" list. But, if the numbers are right, I'd say it's something I'd look into when I go FI.

The ones we had were. They were also poorly detailed and rather unfinished by my preferences (which is why we are not currently selling them). Hopefully, Elliott can do a better job of it.

^ thats why i did not buy his last one is because it had no mounts for anything that have to stay, pretapped holes, and looked like it weighed more than the stock. I could never tell if it had the connection for the fuel line or a few other things.

fwiw. I did a lot of research to have a custom uim made and sent Hogans Racing both my upper and lower intake manifold. They quoted me $3,200 for both the upper and lower made out of aluminum sheet metal, and for just the uim they quoted $2,200.
This would not have been a direct plug and play with existing components (solenoids, etc.) because they were building in as large of a plenum as possible, larger runners and would customize it for my aftermarket billet aluminum 80mm throttle body.

Here's a photo of some of their manifolds that they make for rotaries:

Molds are being worked on for the UIM. Will post some photos when there is something worth talking about.

Generally true and I have stated the same previously myself, but in this case I can show you some cast manifolds that could be considered the equivalent of our UIM and they are in the range or less of what most people are saying here. If we were talking about the LIM it would be a different story, as are custom fabricated complete one-off manifold systems.

question... is the flaw in the factory manifold overall flow, or weakness (cracking) under heavy boost? Because I remember reading somewhere that the UIM couldn't sustain really high power levels.

I am thinking 1/8" pipe female ports for SS -AN vacuum/boost lines for starters, a bigger plenum, nice radii everywhere, bigger runners etc...
If you can find n.a. gains greater than the stock setup I'll pay you $1,000 for each 5 hp you can deliver using a repeated back to back test methodology using the same engine, exhaust, fuel, etc. We've fiddled around endlessly with valve actuation and in the end I'm confident the Mazda engineers got this right out of the hole. Again, this is for NA engines. I suspect your referring to turbo engines---correct?

i dont care how it looks, im interested in how it works. it could be bright pink and have flame stickers on it for all i care...but if it works better then the stock UIM, then i'm interested.

Exploding UIM with nitrous was a problem for one on the board...
