If my engine sounds like it uprevs mid boost is that my clutch slipping? It only does it when max boost for a split second but I hear and feel it.

Best way to test clutch slipping is to go WOT in 4th as it is a nice tall gear (actually i think 1:1). rpms should go up linear with speed. Thats the way some of my gearhead buddies test out their scoobies to see if their clutches are slipping under high boost.

yeah it could be the start of slipping, it will get worse if that is the case.

my car did this with the stock clutch and boost, it was really noticble above 6k rpms
and undeniable if I hit boost on the freeway in 5th gear

I replaced the clutch, with the excedy mazdaspeed version I think, haven't had any issues

And also, smell is not a good indicator of a slipping clutch... just incase you are sniffing around and not smelling anything.

I don't smell anything, it only does it for a split second at max boostage. Other than that is drives great. But I am still getting the scenario where boost only goes to 5psi or so and holds but I as soon as I let off the throttle and go again boost is back to normal. I am pretty sure that is my waste gate actuator but I will have a new one on soon and we shall see.

I got my KMA tray back from Jet Hot. They did excellent work Satin silver on the tray and satin black on the Canton reservoir It's can withstand temps of 1300F. The bolts were just used for mock up, I will get proper hardware for the setup soon.

It doesn't matter. Those skirts and old front bumper are coming this way.

Unless it costs too much.

That tray is a thing of beauty, how thick is it?

Someone could make a good amount of money selling those.

You don't want flow thru the radiator into the engine bay directly on the intake piping and my FAL fan setup makes it worse in traffic at low speeds because it's pulling so much air. It raises intake air temps significantly. Technically is also affects aero dynamics but that is not the reason I got it, and had a heat barrier put on it. I did it to help decrease intake temps. I will be redoing the Greddy inlet compressor pipe as well and I will have it and the cold side charge pipes coated at Jet Hot as well.

It may all be for nothing, but we will be doing some tests so we shall see.
