That is inspiration for the majority of us as you can tell.

Those vids are such teasers.

We could use one that shows you launching like a rocket down the strip.

i want to cry

everything is so neat and clean too, and that giant intake pipe is just beautiful. you should really consider entering in sport compact car's USCC. With a little more work on suspension, I think that car would win hands down.

It's too bad the revenue prevention team at Mazda is so powerful.

Otherwise, they would have a turbo 3-rotor RX-8 like this with a trick suspension & sell it for $40-45k (at least). It would pull a lot of gawkers into the showrooms, too.

This is totally sick...I wish I had the mechanical chops to do this myself!

Mm..interesting project there with a relatively small budget. How did you get the MTX8 to work with the stock ECU ? How about a couple of pics of the engine mounts too. Did you make a custom oil pan ? or go dry sump ? more information please

More Videos please :D hehe...

That's incredible.

Too bad I'll never have one. Would probably cost like $15,000 for us non-mechanics out there.

How does this PR RX8 differ from the Acosta Motorsports 3 rotor turbo RX8? They're charging 60k for the mods and work and you guys did it for 7.5k, that's amazing!

Well they did say they did all the custom work themselves which saves a sh*tload of money. Dont get me wrong, I think Acosta is charging way too much as well, but you'd be surprised how much you can really save when you do the work yourself. Unfortunately I dont have the mechanical know how to pull off a project like this. However, 7,500 even seems a little low just for parts. Whatever though, the vids were great, car looks factory, sounds beastly. Amazing job!

aside from the motor, turbo, and ems, what more off the shelf parts would you have to buy? obviously the mounts and tranny work were all custom made.

In PR you can buy a 3 rotor engine in good condition for $3000- $3,500 .........

Again Robert do it a lot of the custom work buy himself and saved a lot of money.
He do it this job by himself for the love and passion that he has for Rotary cars...........
not for saving money.

This car is not finished yet. Now he is goin to change the suspension and other works,

In the future he would go for the 900 HP range, but first he is goin to change a few thinks on the set up.

This is an amazing story! Sort of merges my dream of having a Cosmo 20B as a cruise car, and the RX-8 as a daily drive (oh, yeah, my other dream is for my father to own an oil company )

Interested in the work you did strengthening the gear box. Did you do this yourself, or send it out?

Great work!
