Question 2009\10 RX8 13b-MSP Swap???

Hey I was wondering....
if/when I pop my 2004 motor would it be possible to throw in a 09/10 model with 3 oil injectors and I guess probibly its computer?
would there be craziness with the 2009/10 computer system in a 2004 car (modules sensors etc)
or would the 2004 computer it the vehicle now be acceptible for the 2009/10 motor due to sohn 2 stroke adaptor adaptor and Hymee???

answer is yes and no

Yes --- it is possible, But it will cost more than what you want to pay for swap like this. so no, you dont want to do it.

I think the electronic differences are complicated between the two. It can be done but it would require more work than it's worth in my opinion.

+1, especially because that engine does not really have huge advantages over ours.
Better\less injectors and an extra oil nozzle per housing\2 omps...
A rebuilt engine with good tolerances and some premix is cheaper!

I'm pretty sure there's no Sohn adapter for the 09/10 engine either although I am a BIG fan of separate metering source. MAZDA ARE YOU LISTENING?

I don't like the sohn adapter too much, i just premix. That's a marketing point anyway, do you imagine what kind of comments would a separate oil tank generate?

Compared to check your oil every other fill up? There are many ways to explain or, as you eloquently said, market the tank. I think the perceived oil consumption is a problem period. A creative name for the tank can remove any strange stigmas. They can even market a special oil for metering and of course there needs to be enough capacity and a warning light.

Sorry, this is a pet peeve for me.

I agree with you as well, even a "fuel additive" (2 stroke oil lol) would be a good addendum.
The problem is that if they admit that you have to add something to the engine it then is marketed as something that needs special care while mazda is trying to tell you the opposite!

A slightly pressurized separate omp system would be interesting, that's one of the sohn's main deficits in my opinion.

When People having a hard time to use something better than 5w20 :

"OMG MAZDA SAID USE 5w20 SO YEAH THATS THE BEST!!"

Some even said Mazda's system is "sufficient" and premix is not needed! ROFL.

If Mazda do it. people will be like "OMFG ! WTF IS THAT? MY Grandma's Geo and my Cousin's Civic dont have that ! fuxking PoS Mazda and Rotary! go suck it!"

the question was not if it was affordable or worth it.
the question was is it possible.
keep in mind im out in the UAE (sorry didnt state)
build is here https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/rear-fi-daily-driver-project-179348/
so anything I bring here has to be crated.
for a rebuild I would just port my engine and replace what was neccessary and do esmirl apexs
cant premix here because I go through a tank a day. (and parts once again shipped in pump/filter etc)
so sohn will be my friend (big *** container where the air filter was)
previously my procharged I change my oil every 2500km or when the light came on
didnt have any issues.
