Exclamation yikes! blisters in the stereo console

I dont know how it happened but I have blisters, not one but two. Is there any way of fixing this without replacing the dash? Im so depressed. I just got my car in Feb, this is my first baby.
Anyway, I've been looking for a dash kit to replace it but they're all stickers. I want to get a carbon fiber dash kit to replace it. Anyone know of any made yet?

Any suggestions? Heres a pic.

unless it is self-inflicted, your dealer should replace it free under warranty. Sometimes even if you damage it yourself they might still fix it out of courtesy (IF your dealer is nice).

p.s. peekaboo your vbGarage profile shows your RX-8 as having black cherry paint. That means you have the Shinka like I do. Change your car package description from 'Grand Touring' since GT package comes standard already. I use 'Shinka Special Edition' instead. Welcome to the forum.

Assuming that wasn't caused by the driver/passenger, the part appears to be defective. You should be able to get it replaced. Just tell them to be careful when pulling it off, because sometimes they will scratch the plastic that surrounds your center dash bezel.

I finally was able to go to the dealer and they were able to change the dash. They ordered the part so I should be getting a new one. YAY! :D
Thanks

That looks like solvent damage. Nail polish remover residue on a fingernail when pressing one of the radio buttons?
