I know you can sign up for a 3 day free trial at Sirius and listen online. I don't know about XM, but they probably have something similar. Music is a very personal preference, so no one can tell you which one is better.

I've had Sirius for 10 months, but I listen to indie rock/alt rock.

I had XM for 2 years. I changed to Sirius. I like Sirius across the spectrum over XM. I still have XM thru DirecTV. Both will allow a short trial online as I recall. Sirius is like XM was before GM got their filthy hands all over it and made it a GM corporate product. Sirius is kinda like the early days of MTV, for those of you can remember that far back. Ironic:

In 2005, Quinn joined SIRIUS Satellite Radio network. On the September 22, 2005 episode of Comedy Central's new series The Showbiz Show with David Spade, Quinn appeared as herself in mock archival footage (dating back to 1983) from her MTV days. In two separate bumper skits, Quinn sarcastically foretold considerably bizarre behavior from stars Michael Jackson and Sting. Subsequent episodes took shots at Whitney Houston and Tommy Lee.

yea,
this is a tough ????? i have had xm for over a year. my best friend who has sirius in two cars wanted xm. i think it was the portability of the myfi.

got her one for festivis and she prefers xm. i got xm for the talk side of it. she is a hard core music person.

i would do some reseach on the sites and decide. i know sirius picks up howard stern and i think nascar next year.

dont know how sirius has the money, but who knows.

beers

Opie and Anthony are garbage and bottom feeders. I can't stand Tom Mumbles Menino, but shouting over the air that he died in an accident for an April Fool's Joke is as low as it gets.

As for Sirius, not only is there Martha Quinn, but also Mark Goodman and Nina Blackwood which amost makes it an original MTv VJ reunion. Of course this was also when music television was actually music television.

It's what they do, you either love them or hate them. With bits like Homeless Shopping Spree, Egg Nogg Drinking Contest and Tissue Time with Beth, you can't go wrong. They nearly got fired again last week for their assault on the media contest. Overall, it really comes down to sports. I spend alot of time in Miami in the summer but I can still hear Mets games. In the winter I'm mostly in NY but I can hear Hurricanes football on XM. I was tempted to go with Sirius so I can hear Dolphin games, but I'll stick with the Sunday package, the greatest invention of all time.

I think XM has more stations covering the dance spectrum, but Sirius has some pretty good DJ's playing on what little they have. I am debating this myself but will probably go with Sirius for the factory integration.

ive had sirius for a couple months now, & i am very satisfied with my choice. xm does have more channels, but from whats been said on here so far, it sounds like the "quality over quantity" generalization might just apply to this situation. but hey, i dont really listen to techno. maybe you could do the free trials back to back, & just compare them that way. in either case, satellite radio is good stuff!

To me there is no question xm has better techno and comedy. However I give the nod to sirius in nearly every other category, especially hip hop. I have been a sirius subscriber for like 3 years and I only just got xm last month in my other car when it came in the new tsx we bought. When it comes down to it though, the decision will be a personal preference for anyone.
