Wow! Your advices made a difference with my crappy Bose!

While I am no audiophile, I was never impressed with the Bose system in my rx-8. But after spending sometime digging around for tips, I "retuned" the Bose setting. The result was a positive improvement from "Urgghhh I rather hear the engine" to "OK I might listen to the CD now".

Here is what I learned after searching through this forum:

- Forget AudioPilot
- Fade to rear +2 to +4. Am using R3 (to err.... commemorate the new R3 model)
- Bass +4, Treble +2.

Sound quality seemed to be better when vol @12+. I usually listen at 5 - 7vol.

I think the biggest improvement was fading some of the sound to the rear speakers. It gave a "fuller" projection.
OK so I no longer loath this Bose setup that much. It's at least palatable now. Thanks all.

You should consider some infinity kappa speakers for the rear deck. They'll be drop in replacements, and you'll get a LOT more detail out of your system if you get rid of those god awful Bose speakers. You could swap out the front tweeters to get even better quality, without needing an aftermarket amp setup.

Nah, for now it is adequate. Again I am no audiophile. The settings did improve the sound so I am happy.
We (wife & I) usually listen to jazz and soft rock/r&b. but I'm a closet 80s fan. Shhhhh......
