Wiring an Infinity Basslink in...best method?

Wondering if anyone out there has an Infinity Basslink (or is familiar with it) might be able to share any wiring tips on how to wire this into the stock RX8 bose system?

I've put three of these into other cars previously and always had good success, but wasn't really sure the best route to go on the RX8 with the factory amplifier, stock speakers, etc...

Do I need any interface adapters for this, or does it go in prior to the amp, etc. Any good routes to go for the power lead up front? I want to make sure I am doing it right and not slowly burning something out that will die on me weeks later..

Thanks
Pete

self powered sub? tap into the speaker wires for the rear speakers. you have to patch in after the stock bose amp. because prior to that it is flat i believe. unless you have an aftermarket headunit. in which case it's pretty straight forward. um search "quick and dirty" should pull up an audio diy. funny.... i keep referencing that damn diy.... good job to whoever opened it.

yeah, it's a self powered sub that can accept line in or speaker level inputs...

I saw a small device that a local shop suggested i patch in before the amp...anyone use something like this? Lost track of the details as it was a while back when I looked at it, but they didn't seem to even stop and think about using it...just grabbed it and said 'you need this for that bose system'....was around $40...

Tap into the rear speaker lines BEFORE the amp. These are the native signals from the head unit; those after are all Bose-ified. You can tap into all 4 lines before the amp if you like, but I never touch the fade control so I did not bother. I did not use any converters or anything, just straight speaker wire. I ran my power switch from the powerpoint in the cubby behind the cupholders. Works well and is not too hard to access. I also disassembled the sub's volume control and poked the **** shaft through one of the blanks beside the DSC switch. This wire and the wire from the battery I ran under the driver's side door sill.

Nice! Thanks for the info...like that **** in the lower corner as well! Think it would fit on the opposite side (closest spot next to the steering wheel?

Did you mount the basslink to the floor with the infinity brackets....or is something else holding it in?

I don't know about that other slot...there is a metal brace back there somewhere. I've seen people actually rearrange the placement of the buttons and blanks, so you just have to play it by ear.

I used the Infinity brackets that came with the sub, and screwed it down with two screws (on the left on the bracket closest to the back, and on the right on the bracket closest to the front. The other ones I either could not reach or were too close to the edge of the well for comfort.

Hmm.. you know, I was all set to track down the bose amplifier input wiring colors, but then I ran across a bunch of posts of people wiring amplified subwoofers like bazooka tubes and others...and most of them are saying to tap the signal AFTER the bose amp, otherwise there's not enough gain for the bass....and that the 'preamp' connections aren't exactly line level, etc...

Anyone with a basslink try the post amp connections and run it into the high level input on the basslink? How did it compare?
