after you check the polarities on your speakers, make sure your amp is set to low pass and the crossover is set to around 60-70 Hz.

My rear deck speakers made a terrible popping noise at high volumes when i had the crossover set wrong. As soon as i set the crossover right it made a world of difference.

sorry to bring up a old post... but i had a quick question about my upgraded system. the 1 kicker l5 i had was nice but i wanted more thump. so i built and carpeted a box for 2 12's. 13x32x18... i have 2 kicker subs hooked up to one mono amp. one kicker is dual 2 ohms, and the other is a dual 4 ohm. so i wired one down to output 1ohm and the other 2ohm. and i ran these in series. is this ok for the subs and the amp? i know wireing it in parallel wouldnt work...

NO! You cannot use those two subwoofers together, no matter how you wire them. True the amp will see a stable 3 ohm load. However the 1 ohm subwoofer will receive twice the power of the 2 ohm subwoofer. Not what you want..... And down right disastrous if they're in a common chamber box. (Which I bet they are)

The dual 2 ohm wired in parallel to 1 ohm will receive twice the power of the dual 4 ohm wired in parallel to 2 ohms.
