CT What head unit kit do I need?

Ok, sorry for making another post about something I'm sure is covered somewhere on here. The threads I've read have mixed opinions about the topic. I'm looking to replace the stock head unit with nice cd or dvd player, also will putting in a good amp and new speakers all the way around along with bass box in the back (not sure which box yet though, I'm looking at a few on ebay) and obviously all the wiring. Oh and also one or two battery capacitors so I don't kill the car battery or alternator.

I see people talking about different head unit kits; metra, corksport etc. And noticed people having probs with a/c controls and whatever else. Which is the one to go with? And what else is needed besides the head unit kit? I deffinitly want all the a/c controls and everything else to be fully operational.

Also, is there anyway to save the audio steering wheel controls to keep them working? Even though I doubt it lol. So a quick break down:

Stock head unit out

Stock amp out

Stock speakers out

Once it's gutted

New head unit cd/dvd player in

New Amps in

New speakers all the way around in, including Box in trunk

New battery caps in, along with all the wiring for everything

What kit do I need and or whatever else to do all of this. I'm having a friend that does this for a living do all the installation. I just need to know what to get. Again sorry for asking a question that has been answered already, I just have a hard time sorting through the pros and cons. Thanks.

One word, Search.
That being said I would go with the metra kit and sony and ponieer make controls to retain your steering wheel controls.
Oh yeah and put on your flamesuit.

Metra all the way...I havn't hear of anyone having any serious problems. I'm not endorsing them but crutchfield will give you half off the $150 DD install kit or half off the $175 single Din kit. But its ok I searched for like 3 days reading through thread after thread searching just what you did. There is alot of bull crap posts that make finding things hard.
