I bought a buddyclub grounding kit and im wondering what the 3 best grounding points in the engine bay are. I was Thinking the two left grounds on the firewall near the washer fluid and maybe one ground to the alternator. Only got three wires so i wanna make them count!

There are many factory grounding points throughout the bay, you could use some of those. Another option is to look up an aftermarket grounding kit and see if they have the install instructions online, you could use those points. HERE is an example of one I found.

Resurrecting this thread as I just did the Big 3 upgrade (big gauge wire from chassis ground to negative battery post, engine ground to chassis ground, and positive post to alternator) and there is a difference on startup and idle (nice, quick, and smooth). I wanted to add if you plan to do this many ground points; you might as well install a heavy duty gauge wire (4 gauge) to go from the positive battery post to the alternator. All my vehicles with sound system have The Big 3 upgrade and this always fixes the dimming lights when the subwoofer comes on. I also add the capacitor which can be overkill but think it's worth the small investment to complete the sound system.

 

do you know or have any sites where I can find these "grounding kits" and even maybe a installation demonstration. i have found a site from a previous discussion on grounding kits, but i still have a small hint of what to do

 

If you search enough; there's plenty of threads in this website where they demonstrate the installation with pictures. You don't really have to buy a kit which all seem to be over priced IMO. Most local stereo stores will have what you need and can provide the 4 gauge wire that is recommended to increase the ground points. Google "Big 3 upgrade" and you will also get more info on kits and instructions. This is more for cars with aftermarket stereos but benefits the Rx8 from my personal experience with or without the upgraded stereo system.
