Unique use for homelink?

Hi Everybody,

Unfortunately my house does not have a garage, nor a gate, therefore I am looking for some other uses for the homelink functionality. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas / has used their homelink for other things? I did some searching on this forum, and on the interwebz but not a whole lot came up... I actually can't find many homelink specific items (they advertise lights and appliances on their web site, but the links don't really work quite right).

I have some RF knowledge and I have a 12v remote switch that I will try to hook up and maybe hook up some LED's or something (just for fun) but have any of you folks done anything neat with the homelink functionality??

Homelink works with X10.

So the question is sort of akin to, "What exists that uses electricity?"

Personally, I would use it to turn on a toaster, because toast is yummy.

I used to have a lamp that came with a remote control. Synced it with my homelink just for kicks. Worked fine..... never used it though.
