Unclean power (buzzing noises on adapter)

Okay, the power from the power outlets (cigarette lighters) in my car has a lot of noise on the line. Was setting up an iPod adapter and tried it with the power from those outlets first before hooking into internal power.

When I did, got a terrible buzzing noise. Did the same hookup in the Subaru, nothing, nice and clean.

So has anyone else had this problem with the car? I'm kind of surprised that there is noise on the power line, even with the car off. Suggestions? Solutions? Any idea what is causing that loud buzz? Kind of disappointed.

Dude!!!

I went out and checked for that, and sure enough, you nailed it! Wish I had thought of that first. Now I just need to either buy an isolator or see if I can get rid of the loop. Isolator is probably easier, have to make a trip to the store tomorrow.
