my wifes RX8

Please can sombody confirm that this can be done with a plugin module.

Car is a UK RX8 2008 model but without the mp3 plug on the front.
This is a Bose unit with the 6CD changer built into the radio.
It has the tape/md button and software version 10.01

The radio has the normal Aux plug on the back

So far I have tried the PAC aux in and the Grom aux in sytems neither were recognised by the radio

I am not prepared to perform the solder mod as the dealer is adament that it will invalidate the whole warrenty on the car not just the radio.

I have emailed the guys at Sylfex.com but have not had a reply.

Does any one know of a system that might work?

Ok I've sent about 5 emails now in as many months no reply so I have to assume that the Sylfex project is dead in the water.

I've tried a whole load of others too but it looks like the only option is an in RF unit Shame

How will it void the whole warranty?

They have to prove that something is wrong with that piece of the car... Like, if you got a transmission brace or a short shifter and the transmission was damaged, they have to prove that the brace or the short shifter caused it to break and then they can void the warranty.

its the uk, they dont have the moss-magnuson act over there.

The only plug in AUX IN that works properly with firmware 10.01 is the Axxess interface that plugs into the socket on the underside of the head unit. Anything that plugs into the CD changer socket on the back of the unit will not work with 10.01.

Thanks for the info.

I can't find a UK dealer that lists up selling their wares.
I'll fire off an emial to them to see if they have someone here in the UK

Having said that she works for an international company and may be able get a work colleague to order for her in the states.
