Trunk complications.....

Hey guys, I did a quick search on this but no luck. I picked up this system today for a great deal. It fits, but there's two magnetic things on the top of the trunk of the 8 which may cause it not to fit. Is there any way they can be removed?? thanks.

ps heres the system. Rockford 10'' amps with a 600watt amp.

LOL....yes, they can come out, at the expense of losing you rear speakers, unless you find a place to remount them. I would keep your set up and just find an RX8 friendly box to put them in.
Goodluck!

lol true, I actually thought they were magnets that were there just for extra support for the spare tire.

Yea I wish I had seen that earlier. I already bought the system (great deal on it), but the place who is installing says the box doesnt fit by about 1/4 of an inch. So they said they'll make it fit somehow and that i 'Shouldn't worry'. Screw it, they break the speakers, they'll buy me new ones.

If you hadn't known already, I'm probably one of the most stupidest kids on this forum with an 8. I'm 18, I didn't look at any backround to the rx8, I wanted a 350z, didn't fit in it. So I went to Mazda and got a rx8. Big deal, I'm not gonna research the damn car, I just bought it. Sorry if that pissess anyone off lol. However, I'm in love with this car.

No offense ment, man, I was just playin with ya! It's hard sometimes to express sarcasm over the web. I bought my car at 19, and have had it for about a year now. I have learned so much about the car in this past year, and I keep learning more. With any car, there are always things to learn. I read through threads on this forum sometimes and i get completely lost. Really no one should get pissed off on this site because of someone has not learned about that particular part or occurance. Don't be so hard on yourself, Chizz, you're not stupid! Remember, the only stupid question there is, is the one that does not get asked.

Yea man Id love to come out one night. And the system I got was a really good deal. So at the time I agreed, cause it fit into my trunk. Its getting installed tomorrow, so we'll see how it turns out. I'll post pics if all goes well tomorrow.

I got my system now and am pleased with it. I've been trying to post pics but every picture is too 'large'. So out of frustration I gave up. It came out nice but it literally takes up my whole trunk. Ill continue trying to post pics.

The amp is behind the system, where I was hoping the system would be pushed back into. It does bump really loud, and am pleased with it. Forget the trunk, I never used it anyway.
