Well if it uses a remote, then the PAC SWI-X will work for it. It connects to the steering wheel control wire in the factory harness, then recreates the IR-command the remote normally transmits and blasts it out a small LED that you can mount anywhere the headunit can see it. Back of the steering wheel, center console aimed forward, headliner/sunglass holder aimed forward, etc. Certainly not as clean and nice as the other steering wheel control adapters, but without a wired remote input, that's the best you're gonna get.

Well I got the metra kit a week or so ago and low and behold, they won't connect together. Theres no way to make this headunit work on the metra kit. And they won't take it back ether, which imho is bullshit since they sold it under false pretenses (plug & play). Also no brackets were present which are needed.

Lesson learned: don't buy Chinese crap straight from China before anyone else confirmed it worked with proof.

Well... there is no way that the metra kit will not work with the headunit...

Note that the headunit does not attach to the faceplate included with the metra kit... you need to remove the stock stereo AND the vent unit above the stock stereo. the plastic brackets included with the metra kit attaches to the headunit - the headunit is then placed into the dash and is secured by installing the vent unit over the tabs of the bracket. The faceplate is then placed over the headunit.

Also note that the metra kit is designed for the north american market - where automatic climate controls are not available. The Metra kit was designed for vehicles with manual climate controls. If your vehicle has automatic climate control (the temp dial has the word "auto" on it) then you will need to acquire the climate control module for manual controls to retain your heat/AC.

Sorry for interupting an old post.
I want to change to a 2 din aswell, with and Pioneer AVH-X3600DAB (no navi) player installed.
Main reason is that I have problems with the LCD display and have tried everything to make it work ( flickering problem)
I have an US model and are looking to buy the metra kit.
But my question is, does the OEM navigation system still work with the Metra kit ?
