Tip of the week 02-21-10

So you bought leather.....

How do you keep it soft and pilable.

Use mink oil!

Sure its expensive but it is the best for leather.

Use it once a year on a hot day.

Put it on let it sit over night and buff it off.

No cracks will develop and it will have a shine.

it's a pain in the *** to squeeze those minks hard enough to get the oil from them. I always end up having to strain out all the bits of blood and brain matter

Hello guys, I use products from a company called Griots "http://www.griotsgarage.com". They have excellent stuff for cars but their leather products are really good. I have used them for years in my previous cars: Alfa Romeo 156 year 2000, Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo year 2000 and Volvo S60 year 2006.

Would mink oil repair existing damage?
Is there a way to repair already cracking leather or Bolsters?
Not ripped yet, but chaffed?

mink oil does not repair damage. It will help your leather resist chafing and damage over time. Thus, making your leather last longer. I use Fiebings Mink Oil, you can find it on ebay.
