Guys,

I've had my system in the car for about 1 month now, and this morning the car wouldn't turn over. Just the starter clicking. I was able to roll it backwards out of the driveway & pop the clutch, but I can't be doing that every time.

The battery seemed fine this morning, ie all lights on, and the switch for the sub was still in the off position. It barely had power to turn over after work. I haven't run the sub at all since the no start, and I won't until i get this figured out.

Is it possible a poor ground would kill / short out my alternator or starter? I grounded to one of the suspension bolts on the passenger side strut, and cleaned the paint off the chassis area surrounding before bolting down.

I went back today and cleaned more / all the paint off that area hoping that might be the problem. Any other ideas?

A bad ground can do lots of things including what you have said. It could be that its time for a new battery in your car. There is a TSB on a better battery and starter. Does your car already have this?

And you have a "switch" for your sub?

unless there is a real reason you have a switch, you should have the remote line hooked straight to the rear cig lighter. that will switch your sub on and off when the car turns on and off.

and i don't know what your system is - but from what i know of your wiring from that one post it kinda scares me. If i were you i would have somebody who knows how to wire system to look at it. make sure all your connections are good and hooked up properly (and without switches if you can avoid it)

also MMats is right - if your dealer hasn't replaced your starter and battery yet, you should have them do it!

Are you sure your amp's remote turn-on lead is connected to an IGN source? And not a BATT source? This will cause your amp to remain on at all times, there by draining your battery while the car is sitting in the parking lot. Either way, replacement of the battery will probably be in order.
