Hey Mike....So, it is NOT the factory aftermarket nightlights, right? Your talking bout aftermarket neon then? How easy was the install? What about heat from the neon---any concerns there?..thnx

Are those the OEM foot lights

is that OEM Mazda lights and switch (ie on with interior dome, fades, etc.), cause I heard that the OEM foot lights had no switch.

THanks

there are not stock floor lights. I bought two ten inch red neon lights and passed one under driver seat and other under passenger seat. They emit light that brightens up my petals and passegner floor mat. NO problems thus far. I didn't do install, I had a streo shop in ca go install with switch for 50 bucks.

Hope this answers questions

Cool

Can you take pics?

I ordered OEM Accessory footwell lights but might cancel cause I don't think they have a switch.

Thanks

Don't take this the wrong way, but as someone who grew up with GTOs, Roadrunners, Alfa Romeos and Fiats, I never understand the current generation's love of dressing up their cars as opposed to concentrating on pure performance. The amount spent on "Altezza" style tail lights, for example, would eliminate the Federal deficit. I never understood it as something I would want to spend my money on, as opposed to cams, wheels, springs, etc. (Although people surely lay out plenty for that.)
I can't think of a time in the history of automotive enthusiasm where people spent as much- or even a lot more- on styling mods than performance parts. I'm over 50 years old, so forgive the culture gap.

mp3guy,
I would say it just depends on what you like.
For me I dont want my car to be fast and look like everyone elses car. My car is part of me and I want it to stand out in a crowd and be different.

MP3Guy, I agree with you. I think it is a generational thing. I spoke to an Infinity dealer before purchasing my RX-8 and she told me the older folks liked their G35C clean and wanted a simpler interior, while the younger guys wanted their cars to have all sorts of attachments hanging off the exterior and found the interior too drab.

I'm 51, and think we old farts should probably leave the kids alone. Their aesthetics are indeed different from baby boomers. The population has almost doubled since I was a kid, and it must be harder to feel like an individual now.

My digital camera doesn't show the glow, this was the same when I took pics of all the lights I changed from orange to white like the small light in the front nearest to the mazda bage, foglight bulbs and corners. I changed them all but when I took a pic it looked like crap .. Sorry

No Glow...No Ho's!

Too bad you cant get a pic. I have the illuminated gearshift installed, thinking of changing the map lights and courtsey ligths to red (but maybe metallic coat) and then some sort of interior thing going....well maybe neons will do.

Enjoy pimpin !!

PS: try the camera with flash off and hold it real still.

Edit: Oh Mp3guy and rodmiester: hey dudes, lay off. I want my interior to glow like a cockpit....get in touch with your inner 19year old!!!!!

Just an FYI, skip the neon and use cold cathode fluorescent lights. No heat, bright colors, and they're cheap.

How much is the shifter? That is one lighted mod I would love to have it just would be soooo cool.

Also red interior lights would be cool as well.

I partly agree with the "why spend so much on appearance mods" but they are easy to do I really gotta get me some strakes they really MAKE the car!

Nice job Mike. By the way how did you remove the dummy switchplate in order to install the light switch?
