SWI-JACK and Kenwood Radios
Just wanted to post a heads up in case anyone else is having problems with this combination. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me, and the instructions were complicated enough that I thought it was something I was doing wrong, not the case though. I must have programmed the damn thing 100 times. As soon as I did the fix, the thing programmed and worked in 1 try.
The problem is that even though you can program the SWI-JACK, the Kenwood radio doesn't respond.
The reason is PAC let out a bunch of bad units, where the wire used for the Kenwood installs is soldered in the wrong spot.
The solution is to de-solder the connection and solder it in the correct place. It is in position "A" from the factory and needs to be in position "B". These positions are labeled on the PCB and can clearly be seen when you take it apart to fix it.
Also here is a PDF of the problem/fix from PAC with a decent illustration:

It is under Technical Docs:

I wish they made it a little more apparent on their site that there was/is a problem with some of the units.
