Smile Subwoofer Install

I was thinking about putting a custom audio system in my car but keep my factory head unit. Is there any special adapter i can purchase so I can use an amplifier? I do not want to convert to an aftermarket radio because it would cost alot more. Thanks.

Do a search for LOC, 6XS, LC6, LC8, DQL, 3sixty and CleanSweep. That should get you started.

I did a search on Line output converter and that is exactly what i need. One issue i still have is connecting it to my existing radio harness. I do not want to splice the wire and damage the factory harness. Any other location that these wires can be installed?

Thanks for the replies..

while i am sure it is "possible"(as ANYTHING is) to find plug-n-play pieces to tap into the factory system with your LOC.... unless you wanna spend massive amounts of time looking for it, i would suggest splicing as everyone else has done.

I have a rockford fosgate 3Sixty.2 for sale if you want to go really high end - you can set crossover, eq, distance, levels, and alot more from your driver seat with a bluetooth PDA

The Audio control LC6 or LC6i comes highly recommended. Personally i have the David Navone NE-7V. depending on your setup and what you wish to get out of the subs you may end up looking at a line driver. IF you do, I recommend Audio Control Overdrive, i just put mine in recently, i just BARELY need/wanted it, but dang it was worth it.

If you are wanting to install a good custom system in your car, then the choice of interface is crucial right now. Do not go with a simple LOC, go with a proper interface. The Audio Control 6XS is this device. It is a highly advanced LOC, a line driver, master level controller, crossover and multiple output platform from the front / rear inputs. Meaning, front / rear in = front / rear / subwoofer output + a dash mounted level control for the sub. This is the #1 most important thing if you want a good system in your 8, one that is expandable in the future and one that will sound good.
