subs facing eacher other in back of trunk?
has anoyone tried putting a 10" sub in each corner of the trunk? I was thinking about doing this with fiberglass and putting the amp in the drop slot in the middle of the trunk. id like to have mroe usable space...
does anyone have this and can comment on how the subs sound facing each other from the taillight corners of the trunk?
also.. do you think i could fit a set of golf clubs diagonally in the trunk if the 2 cubby holes are filled?

Yes, he did describe my set-up. Having subs face one another does NOT cause adverse effects. If the subs were out of phase then you would notice a HUGE lose in bass. If the subs are in phase and x-overs are set properly you will not have any issues. I have had woofers facing each other with less than 13" of gap and not had any issues. Here is a pic of the box with out carpet and paint.

I'm concerned about the the muffler underneath the middle drop slot in the trunk heating up the amp too much. It could just be me though, I don't remember if my trunk used to get hot before my borla muffler. Mabey some thin under-carpet thermal insulation such as kevlar would help. I know I use kevlar to cover equipment around where i'm welding and it insulates pretty well.

If the subs are facing each other you need to swap the positive and negative on one of them. Effectively you are wiring them out of phase, but since the subs are pointing opposite directions, you are actually putting them back in phase.

I'll shoot for the golf club question.
No way will they fit if you fill up the cubbies in the trunk!I have both a stand bag and a cart bag, and I have to angle each bag all the way into cubby on one side first in order for the clubs to fit through the top trunk opening (I carry a 45" driver). Even angled this way, the driver's head cover still scrapes the weatherstripping on the opposite side of the trunk as I lower the bag.
There's plenty of room in the back seat, though.

Your price is incorrect. The boxes are $100 (each) less than you mention.

I'll have to try and remember that when I do my setup

This only works if the subs are actually face to face, touching each other. The seam between the two subs must be air tight. Also remember that one sub must be in some type of enclosure. This type of config. is called push pull or iso-baric. The two woofers act as one piston. My experience with this set-up is that the output is not doubled, only an increase of about 25%. I just did not want you to get the impression that woofers just facing each other must be wired out of phase.
