The rack really was messed up, ever time i would turn the wheel it would make a weird noise. but no i have not tried the connections, where are they located. what happened is i went to get gas, turned off the car(everything was fine) forgot my wallet, so i put the cap back on the gas and turned on the car, and bam no power steering........

yeah sounds like your connectors, theyre located right under the airbox, so youre gonna have to remove it to locate em. buy some Keyboard duster (canned air) and some dielectric grease, you unplug em, air it out, both male and female side and dab some grease on both sides, and plug back

the red part ^ sorry i used this pic to help out another forum member that was having the same problem plus something else

Did you recalibrate the steering by turning full lock left and right after the new rack was installed? Not sure but that may have to be done.

Ok, so i think there may be a short on the wires, when i turn the car on sometimes the light comes on and no power steering and sometime it works perfectly.
Would it still be the connectors in this case? or what

sometime it works perfectly

Classic connector symptom.

The system works until it senses a poor connection, then it cuts out to prevent a steering error. Taking the key out resets it until it sees the fault again.
