Speaker clearance specs

Does anybody have the clearance speces for the base RX-8 audio system. I've been checking various speaker sets for the front and rear, example: 6x9s that should fit, on Crutchfield.com, but the majority doesn't fit. I asked the Crutchfield advisor, and he noted there is only .494" height clearance for the rear speakers. Can anyone verify if this is correct? Also, does anyone have a full set of clearance specs for the base system?

Judging solely on what I had in my 8, you can go 2.5 inches deep in front, and extend at least 3/8 inch past the surface. 5x7/6x8 components are direct fit to the door. The tweeter mounting will most likely have to be modified

Rear 6x9 are the direct fit, depth doesn't really matter since you are going into the trunk. Surface area isn't nearly as tight as what crutchfield says. Maybe 3/4 inch or so at the rear of the speakers where it is the tightest area because of the rear glass. I had to use a socket wrench with a 6 or 8mm socket to loosen the screws since I didn't have a screwdriver that would fit back there. Luckily the screws are 6 sided like regular bolts.

I had Infinity Kappa 680.7cs in front and Infinity Kappa 693.7i in the rear. They both fit perfectly. They don't make them anymore since Infinity has updated their designs to the 680.9cs and 693.9i. You might be able to find them for a good deal though if someone still has them in stock.
