That would defeat the purpose of having a VGA out. The LCD is capable of high resolution. I WILL find it. I spent a good two hours messing with the scan rates with powerstrip today with my adapter. Still no luck but I know it can happen. I'll keep posting.

I've heard there is an old school Macintosh adaptor specifically for this purpose...if I remember there were a few posts about it a while ago...I'll look for the adapter for you...I want to utilize the resolution for the monitor to the best of its abilities...composite sucks and I will search to find a higher res solution as well

Um, chYeaah... I posted about those quite some time ago. That's EXACTLY what I'm using to get my VGA to RGBs.

Okay, it's a bright new shiney damned day and I'm hungover. Back to getting frustrated over this LCD. I think I'm going to pull it out again and see if there is any information on the back. I might have missed something.

From the links I posted, the only thing I've seen is that it is possible the sync rate of the screen is outside of what you can set your video card (even with powerstrip). Thus meaning your solution is going to need to be more than just a plug to plug adpater, but also include h/w to adjust the sync rate as well. It appears that many have tried this with various nav systems and most have given up and just gone with a Liliput or Xenarc replacement. A few may have gotten it to run... Not to be discouraging, because I'd like to see this solution really work. Good luck!

Highest res is 800x600 at 16bit colour... still at 30hz. Gotta use a laptop or computer w/ an Nvidia card. The ATI just don't work at that colour that low of frequency.
