Sliding cup-holder photos on Shinka

When I posted my first Shinka photos, I had a request for some close-ups of the sliding cup-holder.
After doing a search it looks like there were some problems with the design.
I haven't had any problems with the one in my 2005 Shinka.
Not sure if the design has changed or not.
Here's some pics:

I wonder if that plastic piece on the sliding track will break off as easily

it is the same as the normal RX8, except the top is made of stitched leather, as czr stated...nothing more.

I think the person meant the "leather" armrest cushion part. That's the only difference from the non-Shinka cars.

how the heck can you break it?!?!? either you have a *really* heavy elbow, or you had a contorsionist urge and tried to straddle it

the leather wrap on the lids goes all the way to the back as well.
The leather quality seamed somewhat better also--if you can get by with the light color scheme.

Is someone selling those lids? Way better then the ones we have. Or better yet, mine is broken, I wonder if I could convince my dealer to order that one instead, since it is a stock item. hmmm.

Japanparts and Canzoomer sell them if I am not mistaken. Trussville and Rosenthal may carry them also--they are also available in red and chapperal as well as black.

I don't see the cup holders sliding, they are in the same place in every photo.

I do know about the sliding console cover, mine slides now every time I accelerate and every time I brake hard.
