Simple Sirius Subwoofer

Simple Sirius Subwoofer
Looking for easy and effective way to enhance the anemic bass in the non-bose base system.
Sirius has a small amplified 8" subwoofer (crutchfield sells them) that looks to fit perfect in the trunk without using us too much space. Because the amp is small, I'm thinking to connect it to the rear aux power source, grounding it to the shock mount, and connecting it to the rear speaker high level inputs.
It all just seems too simple and inexpensive (sub is $100) of a solution, but I'm not sure of the quality. Is anyone familier with this sub? Kenwood and Clarion also have small subs, but they are so small, I can't imagine much bass coming from them, especially inside the trunk.
Thanks for any input.
