I have a series 1 RX-8, and wondered (I know it's a long shot) if the Series 2 head unit will work in a series 1. I only want to change the HU, not the dash controls or the rest of the bose system. I don't have DVD Nav, so I'm not worried about that.

The reason I want to change, is there are some nice after market accessories for the RX8 series II like HD Radio and bluetooth A2DP (http://www.icarkits.com/cars/Mazda_RX8_2010/PODMAZGV6 Cut and paste the URL, don't know why clicking it doesn't work.) that will work with the factory radio....

The whole center stack is different, I doubt it will work. But there is only one way to find out.
