Satellite Radio
Does anyone know anything about the possiblities of installing new head units for satellite radio. I would really like to install it but don't see how it is possible. Any help or thoughts would really be appreciated.

The RX-8 is too new to have any replacement head units available in the aftermarket...if there ever will be.
The options for adding satellite radio are currently:
* through an FM modulator
* through a cassette deck adaptor
* through what I'll call the "cassette deck line out mod" (search this forum for info)
There's a possibility that Blitzsafe or PIE will make a line out adapter for the factory unit, but not so far.

Two options
Subscription radio service offered by Sirius or XM, cool stuff, no commercials and music you would never hear on the SAME O' CRAP fm radio. Sports and everything you want, its sweet. Not sure if its available in AUS yet but hey its satellite, should be coming soon if not already there.

XM Radio and Sirius are only available in the US for licensing reasons (though there's no *technical* reason they won't work anywhere in North America, there are quite a few folks in Canada who subscribe to it by using a US address to sign up).
They aren't available anywhere else in the world, for the simple reason that the satellites' signals are focused on North America (similar to satellite TV -- DirecTV and DISH Network).
But there are satellite TV services in other markets in the world, and I suspect satellite radio services are on the way as well.

I have Sirius Radio installed in my 8 using an FM modulator and a Satellite radio/6-disc changer commander. I mounted it on the flip up cigarette lighter plastic with velcro. The plastic still flips up and hides the commander if needed. Ran the wires through the console (which I removed completely for the job). The radio is pretty easy to remove, just have to find the one bolt on the drivers side holding it in. The sound is great, and I hate normal radio now. I can't stand commercials...
