Rx8 Aux

Rx8 Aux
After ordering this I thought hmm this is too easy to get aux out of the Rx8 and I w's right not a plug and play. I have a 2006 rx8 and tried installing this cable. Has anyone installed this aux cable for the back of the radio?
From the research I think the cable I received might have the wires in the wrong pins. They have pins 7 and 13 jumped, green on 1, red on 3 and white on 5.

Most people here who continue using the stock radio use the Sylfex AuxMod. However, it looks like it's sold out currently.
I can't tell from the pictures on the site which cable ports are used, though.

literally just go to grom audio.com type in your car with the drop down menus and it will give you the options. If you don't want the blue tooth dongle then you can just get the device with wire for back of stereo. very straight forward stuff

In the pictures of the listings on eBay, it definitely looks as though the #1 pin has a wire loop, going to the #13 pin, though some of them look like there is some heat shrink covering it up.
When looking into the pinholes it appears that at the very least all of the correct holes have wires in them.
Regardless, i ordered one with a female end. if it works i will likely put the input in the cup holder area, on the horizontal surfaces, then i can hide my ipod/phone in the covered cup holders.
updates to follow.

Finally own one :)
Let me know, I tried making one and it didn't work. I'm thinking there is a resistor in the 1 to 13 jumper but i don't have one laying around to try. The connector pinout matches the factory ipod kit wiring cable so technically those aux cables should work. The only thing uncertain is the aux trigger at this point. Without a resistor I have tried aux trigger(13) to power ground(1), to audio ground(7) and to both grounds. So I'm pretty sure a resistor goes in there. 100 ohms maybe.

anyone try this yet?
Yatour Bluetooth module(YT BTM)+Remote control(YT REMO)+Digital Music Changer(YT M06) for multi choices-in Stickers from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com
I've been tempted to try it over my GROM but can't bring myself to spring $125 when I have an already fully functional aux/bt unit.

The eBay one I posted does and does not work. It gets the signal to the CD player and does allow you to listen to music. However, it doesn't recognize that it is plugged in. So when you shut off the car and restart it, it Theres no way to switch back to that input. I found out that I had an xcarlink adapter installed after I ordered the eBay one. I tried the installed adapter first, then with everything still on, unplugged it and plugged in the eBay one. Since it remained on the input from the xcarlink first test, it worked. Then when I turned off the car and turned it back on, the player didn't recognize it and wouldn't go back to the input.

Also here is the Grom audio kit for S1.

I've been trying to find a Bluetooth add on that will preserve the original controls and work with the Bose Head. The GROM is the only thing that seems to be able to do that through the CD channel., though I have not heard one installed. I plan on getting a car audio professional to put it in because wiring is not my forte. I heard the Grom mic isn't good and was looking for a better one. Unless somebody has a better option for Bluetooth phone/streaming music for the '05 (I clearly do not) I'm going ahead with this. I'll post results when I'm done. Then I'll figure out how to make the satellite radio button work.

The problem is more the aux trigger then the pinout currently I think. Anyone able to run a multimeter on pin 1 and 13 with a working interface and see whats there? I would imagine if its a resistor based trigger it would be simple to figure out.

I didn't read any voltage on either pin. Typically when a pin gets grounded to activate something, that pin will have 5v on it via a pull-up resistor. That makes it logic high. When grounded it's a logic low.
This radio doesn't seem to function like that. I gave up.

me neither...
I just bought that same cable on Amazon for $7.98 with high hopes (also didn't see this post at that time). I installed it and got nothing. Per the exchange of emails between me and the vendor, the headunit must have an AUX button, trying to press SAT or CD twice won't work.
Lame...
I bought a unit at Bestbuy for $60 that plugs in inline with the antenna and I trapped into the lighter for power (since it's only Key-on)... works great. Not ideal, but works.
I know this thread is a bit dated, but hopefully no one else will buy these cables.

Depending on your ability to return the bestbuy unit, I have a unit that actually works with the cd changer input. It gives you a 3.5mm aux input. I'll sell it to you for 30+ shipping if you are interested.
