Replaced interior lights with blue LEDs.
I've replaced all the interior lights in my RX8 with blue LED items. I've even done the puddle lights under the mirrors.
It looks really spooky when you unlock it in the dark.

rilot,
Sorry I don't know a lot about LEDs, could you tell me (tell us ?), did you just replace the bulbs by LED or did you have to change the whole electric system ?
Thanks

There are direct replacements for the 501 type (not sure what they are called in the US) capless bulbs. The main centre light is a 36mm bar type bulb. I managed to find a blue LED replacement though.
I got them from www.ultraleds.co.uk

You don't need to remove the cover. It's dead simple actually.
Angle the mirror glass as far in towards the car as it will go using the switches.
Now, have a look down the gap on the outside of the mirror between the glass and the housing, you will see a rubber holder with 2 wires going to it. Get some long nose pliers and twist it to remove.
Easy.

Maybe I am confused but what interior lights have been replaced? I am assuming you replaced the dome lights, the door lights and the map lights . . . are there any other interior lights to replace?
What would you get ticketed for?

Dome lights, door lights, map lights and also the puddle lights but you don't have those in the US.
I certainly won't get ticketed, there is no law in the UK that states the interior lights must be of a certain colour, anyway, they are only on when the car is stationary with the doors open.
Do you have laws in the US that restrict what colour lights can be used in the interior of a stationary car?

Not that I am aware . . . that is why I was asking those who indicated that they were or would be ticketed what they would be ticketed for. I can't imagine that the interior light color in a non-moving vehicle is restricted or that anyone would care enough to issue a ticket.

I did this a while back, I ordered the 4-led lights from autolumination.com
the US size is 194 for the doors & map lights, and I believe the dome light was 31mm, I tried a 36mm and it was too big.
It does look cool when you open the doors.
-Submarine- lmao

I just ordered hyper-white and red 194's from Auto Illumination on top of Silvania Silverstars (non-HID headlights). I think I'm gonna have the interior lights RED when you lock and unlock. Colored lights in your ride while you are driving is ghetto....
