Replace Bose Front Speakers

I've searched.

I'm going to get the Metra Kit and replace my entire Bose system from the ground up.

My understanding is that the Front Bose Speakers are 9"
I haven't found an adapter.

What size speakers will fit in the stock opening?

If there is infact another thread, I would appreciate a link.

Thank you.

I recommend a thick piece of Lexan. Similar to plexi, but stronger. And when I say thick, I mean anything except the thinnest .094 size they sell at home depot or lowes.

I used regular plexi first time around and it cracked and chipped like crazy while I was cutting it. Didn't have that problem at all during the re-do with Lexan. Also, pour water on your blade as you cut. Both materials like to melt back together right behind your blade. The water was an instant perfect fix.

Also, don't try to use wood. Moisture gets inside the door panels and could make things ugly.

Mounting depth should not be an issue unless you plan to mount an 8" sub in the doors

I made my baffles out of Lexan and then covered them in Hushmat. Used a Dremel to cut it up. Messy and slow but it gets the job done.

There is a guy on ebay (username Speaker Adapters) that sells all kinds of adapters. Unfortunately the ones he advertised for the fronts on a Bose car were wrong. I'm in the process of sending him one of my 9" Bose speakers so he can make a template.
The material he uses is decent: 1/4" PVC. It seems like the same stuff the inner door panel is made out of. I'll update when he gets the template done. Most of his adapters sell for $10 a pair.
BTW, I used the 6x9 to 6.5 adapters in the rear and they work really well.
